Sacred Heart Space Meditation.

This is one of my long time favorites from Drunvalo Melchizedek. It is short. It is sweet. And it is extremely powerful once you allow yourself to really get into that sacred heart space. Enjoy.

Self Acceptance: Meditation for Busy People

We are our own worst critics. We all have parts within that we find hard to accept and even harder to change. These parts seem to have a mind of their own. We end up spending a great deal of vital Life Force energy in harboring these negative self images and robbing ourselves of fun.

Here is a simple first step to acceptance. Acceptance alone will open the door for change.

Spiritual Intelligence in Search of Global Unity

Spiritual intelligence is the heart’s way of inviting us to live through greater love. It is higher consciousness constantly carving out our path of evolution. Yet, the heart’s language makes sense only to the aware and to those familiar with their own true spirit.
The human heart is truly amazing. A thing of beauty to poets, artists and lovers, the heart has remained a mere pumping device to scientists until recently. Now research is revealing the extraordinary role the heart plays in human existence, closely corresponding to the view ancient spiritual teachers held. Some significant findings:
The heart has a consciousness of its own, separate from the brain.* It is the seat of the soul – spirit’s gateway into us.
The heart interprets shifts in the energetic environment and signals the brain, which informs the rest of the body.** The heart is in charge.
The heart can operate beyond time and space coordinates. Laboratory research*** shows the heart reacting to an event before it has occurred. We call it premonition.
The first cluster of cells in the human embryo begins pulsating as the heart. Embedded within this heartbeat is all the information and impetus necessary for the development of the human body in the womb, and growth of the human spirit throughout one’s lifetime. The heart remains the master conductor. When the brain and the rest of the organs are in coherence with the heart’s vibrations, we are in perfect harmony.
Spiritual intelligence initially taught us to survive — physically and psychologically. We saw ourselves as separate and we became strong with resistance training – pushing against one another. Now it is time for heart-speak. Spiritual intelligence is coming through to teach the human spirit to thrive. Only in the 21st century is the collective human mind evolved enough to aspire across national borders towards global unity.
Our way of seeing the world and the rules of living must change quite radically. The heart accepts everything as-is without judgment and sees no separation. Separation in the mind is a mere reflection of our own distance from our higher self. All threats we perceive outside are our own sense of inadequacy.
Global unity is best served by complete love and acceptance of oneself and others, releasing all judgments. Simple, though not easy, this is the most critical ingredient for unity – within and without. Just as we would not judge a child for not knowing trigonometry, we cannot judge the spiritually inept for fighting wars. The spiritually intelligent solution is in neutralizing their fears with the heart energy of love and creating a safe environment energetically.
Fortunately many tools are available today to accomplish this. Open heart meditations, heart coherence practice, energy tools are among them. Internal integrity is imperative. We need to do this as much for ourselves to alleviate stresses as for the rest of the world. Spiritual intelligence guides us to turn inward. Once we do all the little details of outer action fall in place.

Reiki: The Entryway to Fourth Dimensional Living

Have you noticed how the old tried and tested methods of resolving problems are not that effective in the long run? That problem may be physical -- pain, discomfort or disease, or menta and emotional. It's as if the universe is pushing us to find new solutions to problems old and new. And it is. Mankind is progressing from three diemnsional to fourth dimension reality. And understanding our energy system is the first step to that.

of all the ways weknow to connect with energy, my personal favorite is the way of Reiki. It is gentle, loving and most easy to connect to. Once you learn to tune into Reiki, a whole another world starts to open up for you, and those irresolvable problems slowly start to dissolve.

Things About Water You May Not Know

We all know that without water we cannot sustain life, but few are aware of the depth to which water affects our being. Consider these:-

--The quantity of water on the planet has is constant like energy. It changes form, no one is making more or can take any away. Water is energy in liquid form.

--Water has consciousness and an intelligence of its own. And now we are discovering that it  has memory too. In the past decade Masaru Emoto has demonstrated multiple times how quickly and efficiently water picks up the vibrations it is exposed to. This little video clip re-affirms that. As soon as you come into contact with water it picks up your unique imprint. How cool is that?

--Water and humans have always had a wonderful and intimate relationship. This beautiful element not only replenishes, cleanses and quenches our thirst, it also exchanges vibrational imprints if you will. So when we are happy, the water around us is happy. The reverse is also true. And every molecule of water will pass on to the next its emotional memory.

Then, consider this, just like the planet, we too are predominantly water. Whatever goes on with the water on earth, in some way reflects in our body -- calm, quiet, turbulent, angry, raging -- we feel it, however subtly. But most of all it reflects in our emotions.

Water is the element of our second chakra, the 'swadhistana', that which anchors our emotional body. Water and we are connected in deep emotional ways.

So what does it all mean? What is the significance of this new awareness? It's enormous!!

As evident from the events of the last few months, the water on this planet is in the process of rearranging itself. Floods in desert plains, droughts where water was plentiful, storms and hurricanes more than normal have surprised us. Its sheer unpredictability has left us all wondering. What can we do?

I can suggest a few ideas.
  • Treat water as a conscious being, a friend. Thank the water for what it does for you as you drink, wash and bathe. Never take it for granted.
  • Pray, love and meditate over jars or jugs of water. Charge it with pure and high vibrations. Then ask it to heal and purify larger bodies of water, including our bodies. Pour it with gratitude into the nearest river, stream, pond, lake or well. Let the good vibrations spread through the water.
  • Whenever you hear any upsetting news about storms, floods or hurricanes, get together in groups (or alone) tune in to the water energy and send it calm loving thoughts. Ask to neutralize the agitation.
Thoughts have power and water pickes it up. It has emotions. We can now start to awaken to these gifts and befriend them.

Loving and thoughtful presence, always.

If Only You Knew How Much ......

If only you knew how much you are loved
Through your bright days and dark
Through your clear visions
                                  And confusions
In your searching and your longing
Your homecoming
                                 Your belonging
With unwavering constancy
                                  You are loved.

If only you could feel how much you are loved
When you are held by your lover
                        Or when you are alone
When your love speaks through silences
                        Or words in your song
In your excitements and creations
                       In your quiets and frustrations
With unparalleled devotion
                       You are loved.

If only I could show you how much I love you
In ways you could hear and see and feel
And know beyond every shadow of doubt
                         With absolute certainty
That in loving you
I dissolve all boundaries of love
And know myself in ways
                        I have not known before.

Tonglen Meditation

"I choose peace instead of this" is one of my favorite lines from A Course in Miracles. I always find myself taking a deep breath whenever I utter those words. And no other meditation, I have found, is as potent as Tonglen meditation to take me to that space of peace. Whenever something comes up within me, or around me, something I see and don't like, that makes me angry, sad or makes me feel helpless, this use of the mind, the intention and the breath has a powerful way of neutralizing that.

Beloved teacher Pema Chodron is the master who introduced Tonglen to me. Here she is in this short video introducing Tonglen. Do it for as long or as short as you wish and watch yourself transform.

Pema Chodron Tonglen Meditation

She teaches us to use the God-given power of mind, breath and body to do this. I am grateful.

The Relationships Conundrum

Let’s face it. You have and will always be in relationships. If you are not then you are either an ascetic in a Himalayan cave or pretty dead – emotionally speaking. And if you are still breathing and walking about, you are also probably very depressed.

Joys, sorrows, excitements, frustrations, anticipations, attractions, repulsions, aggression, defensiveness --- a host of feelings and behaviors are triggered by relationships. Have you noticed? I certainly have. People often show up at my doorstep seeking succor because they are in bad relationships. Their bad relationship could be with their job (too demanding, too cheap, too suffocating, too boring), their boss (incompetent, prejudiced, plays favorites, political, never pleased), their daughter or son (too wild, too irresponsible, too sensitive, won’t grow up, won’t talk to me, too demanding) their mother, sister, father, brother……… you get the drift….

And of course, there is the significant other, the sexual partner, the mate, the alleged holder of the key to their emotional well-being and happiness. If you have been in one of those then you certainly know that all frustrations are multiplied umpteen times if they are triggered in this one relationship.

Here is the news for you, ladies and gentlemen, ye all who seek harmony and balance in your relationships. The state of harmony and balance in relationships feel wonderful when achieved, but it is a highly unstable state. It does not last long. It is not meant to. There is a reason why.

Relationships, like magnets, are held together by opposing energies – the masculine and the feminine. Each has a different flavor, a different function and a different characteristic. When these two energies come together powerfully they create something new and wonderful, which then becomes a platform for further growth. The forces come together again and again, each time at a new level for another creation. Between these bursts of creation the relationship feels blessed and in perfect harmony. Then the tension builds again for the next because at our very core is the need for creative pursuits and growth. Dynamism is what our spirit seeks in any relationship more than state of perpetual equilibrium.

We may have some understanding of the nature of these energy dynamics in the context of sexual relationships between a man and a woman. We have yet to learn how the same process may play out in all others aspects of our lives – between parents and children, siblings, professionals, friends, groups and so on.

In working with my clients I have discovered that a person may get into the same negative relationship pattern over and over again without a basic understanding of these energy dynamics. One may feel powerless and depressed. Or one may flit about from job to job, or relationship to relationship without being able to pursue any degree of depth or greater creative pursuits.

How are the energies playing out in your relationships? In all probability you will discover whenever a bad feeling arises there is competition -- male energies in the fore engaged in power mongering. Our feminine parts typically had fled the scene and hidden. No creative outcome is possible under these circumstances.

“I have been to many relationship counselors. No one has quite put it this way. It makes complete sense”, one my clients told me recently. He was fascinated at the energy dynamics at his work and at home. As he focused on learning the skills to take charge, shift and change it, he was excited that he no longer felt powerless in his relationships.

So I am excited to offer a course on relationships -- the masculine and feminine energy dynamics. It is relevant to you whether you are a man or a woman, whether or not you consider yourself in relationships.

If it is of interest to you, send me an email at and I will happily send you the details.

The Incalculable Price of Depression

Everyone gets depressed at some time or another. Something may come along, trigger a thought or a belief held in the unconscious mind and boom! -- We plunge into the depths of despair and depression. As we grow up we learn to recognize patterns, and for the most part create our own strategy to heave ourselves out of that dark space. Sometimes it lasts an hour, sometimes a day and sometimes perhaps longer.

During those times we know that we suffer. We can see that those who love us suffer around us. They may want to help but often do not know how. But what we may never have thought about and do not know is the immeasurable toll it takes on the collective unconscious.

The collective mind of human kind is on an evolutionary trajectory -- to that place of lightness, joy, love and peace -- high vibrational stuff. That is our natural pathway even at the individual level, is it not? Are we not all seeking that place of interminable happiness, we each in our own way? Depression is a drag on that. Every minute we allow ourselves to remain depressed, we are not only going in the reverse direction ourselves, we are also contributing our mite to the collective very depressed unconscious. Another layer is added on. That which was already dense and heavy gets a little heavier.

Allow? Allow did you say?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, being depressed is a matter of choice. No one told us this before. We all thought we had to react to negative stuff around us that we were unable to control, change or influence by being depressed, by surrendering our power, by compromising our goal to be happy and by accepting our victimhood.

That was before we learned that everything is energy including our thoughts and beliefs; and that repetitive thoughts become our deeply embedded unconscious beliefs. That was before we understood that depression is a symptom of our disconnection from our own true inner self -- our spirit. That was before we learned that there are no victims, only volunteers, no matter how unconscious that may be.

The onset of depression is a sure sign that we are done being victims, we are ready to connect with our own inner spirit and take our power back. Sure it will take a little time. Sure it will take a little help. Like a child learning to walk, we may lean on a friend from time to time. We may even pop a few pills now and again to take the edge off. But like every child we must eventually learn to stand, walk and run on our own two feet. Because if we do not, we remain spiritually invalid.

And think of it this way. Each time one of us is willing to exercise this choice, we add another shoulder to the wheel. And this time in the right direction, towards our collective joy. Isn't it cool that my little thoughts, choices and actions have such far reaching implications? They do. Everyone's do. Believe it.

Malabika offers a Mentoring Program, that supports individuals in stepping out of depression and into their own inner power. It starts with awareness of the realm of spirit and energy . It is about Spiritual Intelligence. To read more, visit this website.

Love or Control? Which Would You Choose?

Can a parent move from the overwhelming desire to direct and control when a son is clearly headed down the slippery slope? This is probably one of the greatest challenges of parenting.

I thought I would share this poignant story of Lily and her son James (not their real names).

A wonderful young man in his twenties, James has had the hardest time fitting into the system. This young man is sensitive, loving and kind and very creative -- not exactly the qualities society expects of a young man. Hence his trouble. At some stage, like others with similar difficulties, James started to flirt with drugs.

Lily moved through all the stages that any caring mother would. From the initial disbelief, to finally recognizing, and then supporting James in addressing the issue. She discussed, she persuaded, she cajoled, she explained, she reasoned, she bargained and eventually spelt out the riot act. Lily needed to do something, to fix it, to feel that in some way she could influence the boy's decisions. She needed him to be in control of his life so she could be on top of hers.

Despite his genuine resolve to set matters right, James was by now so deep into the mess that he required professional help. Lily offered to get him that too. But James would have none of it.

Lily had run out of options, alternatives, strategies for action. Nothing seemed to help. What now?

At this critical juncture, Lily took a brave decision that few parents know how. She was not going to resign in anger and bitterness. She was not going to project her own insecurities and fears on James anymore. She would stop dwelling on the worst case scenarios.

Instead, Lily was going surrender to the process, and surrender with love. She recalled in her mind what a wonderful child James had been, the joys they had shared. She reminded herself that James had his own spiritual journey to follow that was not up to her to control. Her job was to love him and trust in his ability to find its way out of the maze. Her job was to be there when he needed her counsel and to respect his being.

This was a 180 degree turn around in mind set and attitude for Lily, not something that happens automatically, but with deep conviction and dedication. Lily was not about to take short cuts. Her son's future was at stake.

She used all the tools in her spiritual and energy healing toolbox to stay on track. Most of all she maintained her boundaries and made sure James had enough space to make his choices without her interference.

"Change the way you look at the world, and the world around you changes."  These are Dr. Wayne Dyer's wise words. It took about two weeks for the real change to take place in this case. Mother and son had barely been in touch during this period, both acutely aware of the need to respect the other’s boundary.

On that bitterly cold and rainy night Lily found herself becoming anxious about James's whereabouts. Not allowing her anxiety to overcome her, she sent him a short loving text message. It was as if she had just opened the door James had been waiting for. He reached out to her for help like never before. He was sick of being sick and tired. He was done with this kind of life. He wanted to change. In the space Lily had created for him, James had finally come to realize the depth of his despair, and also the fact that no one could help him unless he wanted to be helped. He was ready now.

A very relieved Lily was glad to provide the support she had for so long wished to give James. And now that there were no controlling shackles to push against, a very determined young man realized his rare good fortune that his mother was lovingly standing by to support him.

He is well on his way to recovery. Doing could not accomplish it, loving did.

Creating Heart Space

The heart is an amazing organ. It is responsible for much more than pumping blood. Recent research is uncovering the true power of the heart in helping us heal and deal with our environment.

When we are able to perceive a situation from the energy of the heart, it magicallly changes its flavor. For the better. A situation that may have been stressing us, seems to lose its bite. We can move relationships from ones that drain us to energizing ones.

This short little meditation (11 min.) gives us some tools to start creating that. Enjoy.

Good Wishes Galore

This morning I was talking to a lady who was telling me about her exciting journey into spirituality and how her life is beginning to change as she learns to apply the spiritual principles and practices. Then she follows it up with ‘I wish more people were doing this. Life in the world then would be so much better.’

Back in ’05, I remember, a group of us were studying ‘A Course in Miracles’. After a particularly illuminating lesson one day, one of the participants threw up his hands in the air and asked incredulously, “why are there only 14 of us here? I wish there were 1400”.

And just now I read my friend Tom’s FB post starting up with “I wish more humans would understand……..”.

This is the wonderful nature of the human being. We are constantly searching for something better and as we discover something we deeply resonate with, we promptly want the entire world to share it, to buy into it, to start living by it. The fellows who have learned to make more money in a simpler way, can hardly wait to show us how. From cleaning houses to teaching children to finding spiritual solace, we are so eager to spread it out and wish others would absorb and embrace what we have just discovered. Have you noticed? Isn’t it wonderful?

And they will. This is the way of evolution. We learn, we wish, we teach, we plant seeds, we carry on. The more we wish the more it comes true. The stronger our desire the sooner it happens.

It is sure to happen. Just don’t hold your breath as to when and how. And release all attachments to what it ‘should’ look like. You have set forth a desire. The universe must honor it divinely timed.

So keep wishing folks. Good wishes galore.

Planting the Seeds of Change

Each of us is living with something in our lives that we would rather change. Isn't it? For some it is a short term thing -- like a nervousness around a meeting or an exam. And some want a longer term thing -- like an improved relationship, or a new job, or relief from a chronic body pain.

Whatever it may be, one of the biggest impediment to change is our inability to imagine what it would be like after the change. We remain far too focused on what we 'don't' want. But we need that imagination accompanied by the feelings to bring about that change.

This meditation helps plant the seed for that which we do want and applies certain principles from yoga and the Law of Attraction to bring it forward.

This Meditation for Busy People is the offering for February 2011. Enjoy.

Rena's Story: Son Turns Over a New Leaf

Twenty seven years of her son Aaron's life were not particualrly pleasant for Rena . Within a year of his birth, Rena lost her husband. Her mother and brothers supported her in raising Aaron. While Rena was getting her life back together, Aaron lived and grew up with his cousins almost as siblings. He went to school and camps and took vacations with them.

Problems began to surface as Aaron was becoming a young adult. Although he did well in academics and was accepted in a management school, emotionally he appeared wounded. He blamed his mother for abandoning him, found faults with her familiy's attitude toward him. He felt discriminated against. At some point started to flirt with drugs.

Needless to say, Rena tried everything within her power to get this young man to see reason. But Aaorn would have none of it. 'Get off my back' was his attitude. Their rare phone conversations grew shorter. Aaron was brusque. Over time mother and son hardly communicated.

When I met Rena, she was nurturing a broken heart and was worried sick about her son's future. She felt she had no control. Realizing that direct intervention in the matter was useless, Rena started to take interest in energy work.

Initially the energy therapies Rena pursued were primarily to find some peace of mind for herself. She learned techniques, went to personal healing sessions and retreats. Although her own pain was getting better she continued to worry about Aaron. She arranged for healing practitioners to send distant healing to help Aaron.

Then something unique happened. In a session with Rena, I asked her to describe her son as she thought of him. She created this picture of a helpless, lonesome boy who had become angry, rebellious, disrespectful and irresponsible. It was a damning portrait -- for both mother and son. She felt tremendous guilt as a mother that she just could not shake off.

Over then next few days, Rena worked on releasing her guilt. Then we took time to assist Rena in creating a different image of Aaron in her mind. She pulled up memories of Aaron as a loving child excited about life. We built on that to create a vision of a strong, positive young man who was eager to take responsibility for his life. The greatest challenge Rena needed to overcome was her own doubts that this could ever be possible. But her love and strong desire for her son were on her side. She relentlessly worked at removing her own blocks. She learned to turn around the energy of negative thoughts that arose in her mind concerning Aaron, while her energy worker friends continued to support both mother and son.

The result was quick and astounding. In about two weeks, Rena called me to say 'this is a miracle.' Aaron, who had not spoken to Rena for months, had called for a short but decent conversation the previous week. That morning he had visited his mother in her home and spent time with her. He had assured her that he was ready for his new job responsibilies. He expressed his gratitude for all the support Rena's family had extended to him. He had looked relaxed and happy. In Rena's mind, it was indeed a miracle.

I had to smile as I heard Rena's story. Once again she validated that what brings us misery is our way of looking at things, our fears and our inability to trust. These are deep seated patterns. If we can find the tools to change those and shift our vibrations, the outer reality powerfully changes. The world reflects back to us that which we create in our energy field.

This is Spiritual Intelligence.
