The Sun Meditation

An arctic front they say is moving through the central plains. It is bitterly cold, snowy, stormy, windy, bleary and blustery. The kind of day that keeps you indoors longing for a friendly glimpe of the sun.

So when friend sun hides all we need to do is invoke the memory in our hearts and viola, it's bright again. Try it. Here is a short meditation.

The Abundant Universe

Our physical three dimensional five sensory world has gotten us so bogged down with the idea of scarcity, of finite matter and of survival, that it boggles our mind to think that the universe can actually be a place of infinite abundance.

Why wouldn't it be? Everything is energy before it turns to matter. And there is infinite energy.

INFINITE ABUNDANCE. Just say it and see how it feels.

INFINITE ABUNDANCE. Sound of sweet music. Allow it to play over and over again in your ears and resonate in your pulse. The gravity and the significance of the thought will gradually start to seep in. Then think about how such a concept would affect every level every aspect of your being.

Enjoy. Have fun. Be seeing you here again soon.

An Inside Job

When a change takes place within, it sure can enhance the quaity of life in ways we can hardly imagine. A client just stopped by for a cup of tea and to tell me how he is doing.

"Funny", he said, "just some months ago I was so despondent, discouraged, dragging my heels, depressed. And now I can't wait to get up in the morning and get going. There is life waiting for me out there loaded with gifts. All I have to do is reach out and pluck the fruits", he said. "The only reason I don't already have them I realize", he added, "that I didn't really want them that much, at least not with the same degree of clarity I have now. I was more comfortable being miserable. No matter how much I hated it, it was a space I knew."

And what changed it? Drugs, medication, therapy?!? Nope, none of those, at least in this case. Just plain awareness. Opening up to the knowledge about oneself through self study, meditations and energy healing practices that help change the thought process. And suddenly life is so much brighter and so much more fun.

Is it possible? You bet. Can someone teach me? Yes, of course.
Check it out at this link.

The Energy of Anger

While we get ready to give thanks for everything that is wonderful, India is struggling with barbaric terrorist attacks at many locations in its financial capital, Mumbai. Over a 100 innocent lives have been lost, many others are held hostage and the saga continues as I write this post. The end is not yet in sight.

What is this madness all about? Some have asked. Others on many social network have condemned the attackers in no uncertain terms. But you can tell there is a sense of impotency to be able to do anything that would change it.

Who but those who feel so utterly powerless and angry would resort to this? Who else would have such little regard to God's gift of life? Their own lives must be so joyless that they think nothing of sacrificing it while taking a few others along. So lost they are in their conviction that some wrong is being righted here by these means .

What would love do now?

It is a baffling question. Should I condemn the violence? That is one thing. Do I also condemn the people behind it? Will I not then be perpetueating their powerlessness? What about the people who lost their lives? Don't their families deserve some retribution?

I don't know. These are moral dilemmas not easy to answer. All I know is that in engaging with this madness, I give it more power. How can I disengage when the energy of anger comes at me so strongly? It is the answer that I too, among others, am seeking.

Ready to Receive?

The Law of Attraction has created such a buzz. Everyone is walking around visualizing. creating vision boards, thinking positive thoughts, staying in the right vibrations... the whole 9 yards. And then getting frustrated because the object of their desire is taking its own sweet time to show up. So where's the hitch?

If the Law of Attraction is such a profound law of the universe, how come it isn't working? This is the question.

Well, there seems to be a deeper and significant part to the law of attraction. Are we ready to receive what we desire? Or do we expect to be in the old track aswe were before. This is the part most folks are still grappling with.

Getting ready to receive requires an understanding of ones deeper psyche and what drives it. What are resistance sthat are in place that need to be overcome?

Are you ready to receive?

Your thoughts, your mind, your energy

You are pure energy. Everything about you is pure energy. You are the energy of the consciousness that is you — The Energy That Is You. And as your consciousness shifts, expands, grows, so do you.

This is the space where you will find tidbits on your energy, where it comes from, what enhances it, what depletes it, how it supports you and how you may integrate with it even more. Be prepared for a wonderful adventure through these pages.

In the meanwhile, I would love to invite you to ask your questions, send in your queries, express your curiousity of the world of energy. It is the next field of our evolution, would you agree?

Conscious Creation Principle?

Friends,

If you are curious to know how this whole gamut of science, matter, spirtuality, creation, law of attraction all fit together, you may wish to spend a few minutes (26 to be exact) watching this movie. It is clearly the most simple explanation I have encountered.

Relax. Let down your hair and put up your feet. Get a cup of tea and enjoy.

Through New Eyes

Nothing brings a smile to a face as readily as a new baby. Sebastian Nilay arrived to remind us once again of the wonder of life -- up close and personal. Of the love, the joy, the tenderness we hold in our hearts that sometimes life will cover over with dust. And suddenly everything is washed clean again. I watch in fascination the perfection of nature, his mother gently settling down being mom, the most tenderly loving side of dad on display, and every visitor basking in the beauty, the promise, the future dream......... makes me want to take a deep breath and soak life in.
Enjoy.

If we only have love

The power of this beautiful poetry by Jaques Brel was brought back in focus once again by my friend Jim Cernan.

Here is a version by Johnny Mathis.

The lyrics are uplifting.
How does this make you feel?

If we only have love
Then tomorrow will dawn
And the days of our years
Will rise on that morn
If we only have love
To embrace without fears
We will kiss with our eyes
We will sleep without tears
If we only have love
With our arms open wide
Then the young and the old
Will stand at our side
If we only have love
Love that's falling like rain
Then the parched desert earth
Will grow green again
If we only have love
For the hymn that we shout
For the song that we sing
Then we'll have a way out
If we only have love
We can reach those in pain
We can heal all our wounds
We can use our own names
If we only have love
We can melt all the guns
And then give the new world
To our daughters and sons
If we only have love
Then Jerusalem stands
And then death has no shadow
There are no foreign lands
If we only have love
We will never bow down
We'll be tall as the pines
Neither heroes nor clowns
If we only have love
Then we'll only be men
And we'll drink from the Grail
To be born once again
Then with nothing at all
But the little we are
We'll have conquered all time
All space, the sun, and the stars.

The Lady Who would Tend to Her Garden

Moving to an acreage in the suburbs seemed like a good idea then. But soon Jessie began to feel the burden. Her dream garden needed too much time, too much effort -- had to be watered, tended to, weeded. As spring came it needed more frequent watering. It was getting her down, wearing her out. Driving home from the city where she worked, she felt she did not have enough time, enough energy.

She even denied herself a family holiday, staying home to water while everyone else went off to some exotic place.

So how about hiring a lawn and garden service? Or installing sprinklers? ...Nope, couldn't do that, not enough money.

Not enough, not enough, not enough........... time...money...energy....fun....

So we dug, Jessie and I. What was at the root of Jessie's belief that there is not enough in this abundant universe? What was stopping Jessie from allowing the abundance to flow in? What was getting in the way? Systematically Jessie worked on removing old, archaic beliefs and dysfunctional thought patterns using some potent energy technologies.

Three weeks later, there she was in my studio, broad smile on her face, clapping her hands, excitedly telling me that the sprinklers were being installed on her acreage even as she spoke. What freedom. The dream garden was coming easy.
Suddenly it all seemed possible. And no worries either, mate!!

What changed?.......Same people, same circumstances.....different outcome.
Weeding out the beliefs rooted in fear, and planting new ones that come from love. It makes all the difference. Allows the universe to give abundantly.

Simple, but not always easy.

Jessie is off on a vacation with her husband and her garden is doing wonderfully, thank you. She (Jessie is not her real name) is currently enrolled in the Mentorship Program for Personal Empowerment. Her future is suddenly full of exciting possibilities.

EFT stories for Gary Craig

Hello Gary,

I have just returned from two weeks of vacation. I wish to share some short and sweet experiences with surrogate EFT during my travels – all involving little children.

The first was at the airport as we were beginning to board. There was a family with three young children. One of the boys, my guess of around two and half or three, seemed to be in absolute despair at the prospect of going into the plane. He was flat on the ground, flailing his hands and legs refusing to get up and screaming. The mother was trying to console him. His dad stood by looking rather helpless and a little embarrassed, and the siblings bewildered.

I was attracted by all the commotion. I walked up to the Dad and said ‘ask his Mom to gently tap on his collarbone’ (for some reason I intuited that would help). You can imagine the Dad’s confused expression at this strange woman asking to do something quite bizarre. “Tap on what….?” He asked. I repeated “collarbone”. And then as if to demonstrate, I stood right there and tapped on my own collarbone repeating in my head “even though I am really scared to get in that plane, it’s ok, I’ll be safe”, “My Mom is right here, I’ll be ok”, “It’s very scary, I’ll be ok”, ‘my Dad is right here, I’ll be safe”, and so on. I couldn’t tell whether the Mom actually tapped on him or not.

It would have taken about a minute, you could see the sudden shift. This child who was quite inconsolable till now sat up determinedly and between sobs said to his mother, ‘ok. I will go with you. Hold my hand, I will go with you”. That’s what I heard and saw the immense relief on both parents’ faces as they collected their belongings and headed for the plane.

The next incident was on a different flight. Again there was an infant some rows behind me crying quite inconsolably. I couldn’t see them but heard the Mom getting rather desperate. I tuned in and employed the surrogate technique and again it took less than two minutes to become quiet. I got a sense that the baby was asleep.

The third incident was at a restaurant during the same trip. A family of four was dining and their little girl on a high chair suddenly let out an almighty scream and proceeded to bawl. The parents tried to console her but she went on. Our attention was drawn. I remembered my airplane incidents, and asked my 14 year old niece who was with me “you want to help quiet this child?” She has learnt basic EFT from me. I told her to tune in to the kid and follow what I was doing. We both did a couple of rounds on ‘even though mommy won’t give me that thing, it’s ok, she loves me’. My niece kept grinning as she watched this child quiet down.

I have to smile each time this happens. Skeptics may think it’s a series of coincidences. I am ok with that. Who knows. I know that I’ll tap whenever the opportunity arises and let the happy coincidences bring the parents some peace.

Thanks Gary.

The Brain in love

Why do we crave love so much, even to the point that we would die for it? To learn more about our very real, very physical need for romantic love, Helen Fisher and her research team took MRIs of people in love -- and people who had just been dumped.

Anthropologist Helen Fisher studies gender differences and the evolution of human emotions.

Harmonizing Relationships

Meditation: Harmonizing Relationsips

This meditation is based on the principle that relationships reflect back to us our own vibrations. If there is a negative charge, it is because there is a negative thought, judgement or fear I hold deep in my psyche that I am not aware of. The relationship helps to bring it to the surface. A gift.

This is a simple first step to harmonizing the relationship from within. It is not meant to simplify the complexity of relationships, but simply to demonstrate how changing your own vibrations begins to affect the relationship. As you practice this over and over and apply it to more and more complex issues, you will be surprised as to how much the quality of your relationships will begin to change. (15 min.) More on Meditation instead of medication.

Perhaps I need to clarify a bit. Comments posted by devoted TM practitioners suggest grave objections to my 'using the evidence of TM to promote other stuff' which they feel may not be as effective.

I wish to add that I have been a practitioner of TM from the early 70s and have first hand knowledge of its benefits. I have also learned and practiced other types of meditations from yoga and tantra origins. I have found everything to be beneficial in different contexts.

In my own practice I have been successful in helping clients reduce and even get off various kinds of medications, sometimes after years of use. And it is done through simple meditative and energy healing practices. So even though I don't have libraries of research studies to quote, I cannot deny the evidence experienced first hand.

My article was intended to open up the readers to alternate techniques.

I hold the single minded practitioners of TM in high regard becauce their practice is indeed raising the human consciousness enough that others can now access levels of consciousness that was previously inaccessible. So thankyou for your devotion to the practice.

Meditation instead of medication

Did you know that there is a growing body of research goin on by the scientific community that shows the effect of regular meditation on the body and mind? More and more people are able to reduce their dependence on medication and also reduce levels of stress and anxiety.

To read more about what the medical community is saying about meditation visit

Though these people make specific reference to TM -- transcendental meditation -- similar results are found in other types of meditations too.

Where the mind is without fear

Where the mind is without fear
and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been
broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out
from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches
its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
let my country awake

The Magic Touch of Thought

You expand and contract
In my mind
As I will

You are sometimes
The large hearted lover
Brimming with thoughtful caring

Then suddenly you diminish
Into the little mortal
Full of fear and foreboding

And just with the magic touch
Of my thought
I liberate you once again
To become
The magnificent soul
That you really are

And in so doing
I set myself free.

Self Acceptance

We are our own worst critics. We all have parts within that we find hard to accept and even harder to change. These parts seem to have a mind of their own. We end up spending a great deal of vital Life Force energy in harboring these negative self images and robbing ourselves of fun.

Here is a simple first step to acceptance. Acceptance alone will open the door for change.

Energy Healing: On the Cutting Edge

(This article is in the current issue of Healthy Aging magazine).

When we think of holistic alternatives in Health Care, typically our minds go to such things as vitamins and supplements, exercises and diets. The more adventurous will also look at herbal remedies and be willing to try out acupuncture, yoga or qigung.

There is a whole new movement going on out there that has exceedingly powerful effects on our health. This is the field of Energy Medicine, although that is perhaps not the correct term as there is no ‘medicinal substance’ involved. A more apt description may be Energy Psychology or Energy Healing.

These modalities are based on the scientific fact that we are all basically energy. This body that we see in the mirror everyday is built up of minute units of energy at the atomic and subatomic levels. Everything that is matter is actually energy at the core. So when we bring about shifts in the energy, we can affect change at the physical level. And what is more, it is far easier to change the energy than to change the physical form.

Energy Healing modalities have another very interesting and critical underpinning. This is the fact that not only are our bodies made up of energy, but so are our thoughts and emotions. So every thought we think and every emotion we feel carry energy. The good ones help our bodies become more healthy, the negative ones make us unhealthy.

Farfetched as it may sound, energy healing practitioners are finding more and more evidence of these facts. People who are trying these methods are able to see quick shifts in short term problems and alleviation of long term and chronic issues.

The National Institute of Health now has a special branch in its Complimentary and Alternative section that has started to investigate the effectiveness of Energy Medicine. The few studies that are available are showing positive indications of the effectiveness of Energy Medicine.

What are these Energy Healing modalities? The two that are most widely known and are also being used in several hospitals and health care centers are – Healing Touch and Reiki. In these, the practitioner and the receiver both get into a meditative mind space and direct healing energy to the troubled spots. Sometime this is done by gently laying the hands, and sometimes just mentally. Person receiving healing universally report a feeling of great relaxation and well being. This is precisely what the body needs to allow the healing to take place, whether it is to let a medicine work or whether recovering from surgery.

Other Energy Modalities include a system called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) that is based on Thought Field Therapy combined with the Chinese Meridian concept. It helps to release old trapped emotions that play over and over in head and create negative energies resulting in physical illness.

There are two major advantages of Energy Healing. The first is that it can do no harm. There are no negative side effects, because it must necessarily be anchored to a positive mindframe to have an effect. The second most wonderful advantage is that each of us can learn the techniques and apply them on ourselves. Just like exercise and diet, we can develop our own regime of meditation and self healing with Reiki or EFT.

Energy Healing is on the threshold of taking the concept of health care to a whole new level – a completely new paradigm. To be effective, however, it is necessary that we begin to understand the mind-body-spirit connection. This forms the base of Energy Healing.

The Beautiful Thing About Healing Energy

The beautiful thing about healing energy is that no matter how many times you have worked with it, or taught it, or played with it, or demonstrated it, each time there is a newness that comes along. And that is beacuse the energy is intricately connected with our expanding consciousness. As we evolve and grow and become more conscious of this energy field, the energy itself feels newer, bigger and more communicative. Wow!!!

It is over eight years now that I have taught Reiki. This past weekend I taught again, and so had a chance to rediscover this truth about healing energy through the class. What a loving, wonderful and fun energy this is. And with healing potential of extraordinary power. Yet so simple to connect with and sustain.

It is a treat and a privilege to be called upon by the universe to teach about Healing Energy. I love my job.

Executive Coaching

Paul asked whether I did 'executive coaching'. The answer is yes, yes and yes. In my Mentorship program I coach people to be more effective exactly where they are. Every other person I have coached in the past two and a half years is an executive. The others have ranged from independent professionals, coaches, care givers to young mothers.

Executives need this support as much, if not more, than others. Why? Because as the market competition gets tougher, the stress factor climbs. Many are reaching a point where the tried old methods no longer produce the desired results. So they are open to exploring something new, something different like the Conscious Energy Technologies.

If you are in an executive position looking for news ways to deal with old stress, this may be an opportunity. Check it out.

Tong Ren

Tom Tam of Quincy, MA, has been teaching this healing technique. It is a fascinating process. It is based on the Chinese meridian system that is the basis for acupunture and acupressure. Except that Tom doesn't do either. His is a surrogate method using a rubber doll. And he taps on the meridian points using a small magnetic hammer.

Does it work? Absolutely. I recently attended a workshop where we worked on one another. You can feel the energy being released. Not uncommon. We are tapping into the field of the collective consciousness as we do when we send Reiki through distance healing, or when we do surrogate tapping in EFT, or Spiritual Restructuring. Tom has figured out a much more convenient and focused method.

Read more about Tom at http://www.tomtam.com/.

Once again, there's a fascinating world of Energy Healing growing out there.

Meditations for Busy People: Desire

Desire is the seed that births all creation -- the single most powerful motivator. Without desire the world is dull and stagnant. There is no movement of energy, no growth, no fun.

In some circles the idea of desire has a bad name. Desire leads to suffering. Desire is not spiritual. Desire is bad. It is not desire per se, but our strong attachment to the outcome of the desire is what muddies the water.

So let us keep that desire pure and innocent and focus on the joy of realizing our creations.

The Science and the Art of Asking

One of the most powerful conscious energy technologies I have used is Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT). It has the power to reach energetic depths and breadth that are otherwise beyond our conscious access.

I have used SRT for some years and have known its potential. But teaching an Advanced Level SRT class this past weekend has brought home once again the mind boggling power of this system. And it is expanding and unfolding continually as our consciousness expands.

It is based on the simple principle "Ask and it is Given". But the art of asking is not so simple. First we must be aware of what is possible and available.
Then we must learn to be specific in our asking.
And lastly, we must remain assured that it is coming and allow the process.
The more awareness, the better the choice. And the more specific, the sooner it comes. Ask to release or to receive, both work the same way.

Spiritual Response Therapy is the tool for developing the fine art of asking. Whom are we asking? I call it Source -- from whence all things are created. You may have your own name -- Spirit, God, Universe. Universal Consciousness, Field of all Possibilities -- it doesn't matter. This is not imagination folks, it follows universal Laws that science is beginning to unravel.

It is a fascinating world of energy out here. Come play with me some time.

Heart Meditation

Meditations for Busy People

This month's meditation focuses on the Heart Center.

Our heart is the seat of our soul. The soul is about 'love' and does not understand anything other than love. So when we worry or get stressed out, the heart contracts and edges out our soul energy -- restricts its flow and thereby initiates a downward spiral.

Here is a simple way to change that from the inside out, using breath and our minds -- the two most potent tools we have.

(15 min.) Enjoy.

Living the Field

In 2002 Lynne McTaggart first published her book entiltled "The Field" after interviewing and studying the works of cutting edge scientists who are reseaching the nebulous region where physics meets metaphysics. It is all about consciousness -- the ephemeral substance that seems to hold our universe together.

And now Lynne has published "The Intention Experiment" which brings more clarity and focus on this fascinating subject. She invited her readers to participate in an ongoing eperiment in "Using Thoughts to Change Your Life and The World".

It is all about Conscious Creation. At last we are beginning to scratch the surface of the body on knowledge that restores our amazing creative power. Our sages have known it for eons. The rest of us are beginning to be prepped for it.

It is the realm of magic and miracles.

Thoughts Become Things

Ever since I began to unravel the power of focussed energy of thought, one person has provided me with constant inspiration and support. That is Mike Dooley. I have subscribed to Mike Dooley's TUT's Adventure website and received his fun, rib-tickling, inspiring and always uplifting messages everyday.

If you wish to listen to Mike's powerful speech on thoughts and things, check out this link.

And remember that thoughts become things. Choose only the good ones. Smile.

It’s all about Attention, Energy and Focus

The wise ones have known it all along. It is all about attention, energy and focus. They have said it to us in many ways, in many languages, many symbols and many lessons over the ages. We are just beginning to figure out the significance.

So wherever you place you attention, energy and focus, you get more of. The universe just picks up that energy and multiplies it and sends it right back to you – call it the action/reaction, call it karma, call it whatever you will. There is no escape.

So if you are finding stuff in your life that you would rather not have, take a minute to reflect on what you are placing you attention energy and focus. You may surprise yourself.

Meditation -- Pure Grounding.

Connecting with our body, mind and spirit is one of the most powerful ways of remaining centered grounded and in balanced harmony. This is a short meditation to bring us back to that space. Just using intention and visualization. Pretty cool. Try it.
